New Jersey Cabaret Association Defense Fund

New Jersey Adult Cabaret Association

What is the New Jersey Cabaret Association (NJACA)?
The NJACA is a group of dedicated, concerned and active adult nightclub owners from New Jersey who fight all negative challenges by the government, the religious right and elements in society, who work diligently to close down all adult nightclubs. These fights are extremely expensive, involved, and occur every day.

If not for the NJACA, many (if not all) adult nightclubs in New Jersey, would be out of business. Or, sales would be down so significantly that many clubs would go out of business. We must challenge overly restrictive laws that target adult nightclubs, and these complex legal challenges take many lawyers, expert witnesses, PhDs, and expensive academic studies.

The government and religious right are on the rampage and they are determined to get rid of all adult nightclubs in the U.S. They have been successful in Ohio and now plan to adopt their over-restrictive laws in New Jersey. This will place everyone’s positions and jobs in jeopardy.

Here’s what they want to impose on adult nightclubs in New Jersey:
  1. Eleven P.M. closing time
  2. Closed on Sundays and Holidays
  3. Six-foot distance requirement between entertainers and customers
  4. No nudity
  5. Pasties must always be worn by entertainers
  6. No VIP or Champagne rooms
  7. An additional $5.00 added to each customer’s admission fee, day and night.
  8. Background checks on all entertainers, staff and owners
  9. Entertainers must be licensed and pay a large fee to obtain this license to work in the club

Enemies of Adult Nightclubs
To see just a few of our enemies, go to The Independence Law Center website (www.indlawcenter.org) and click on “Cases.” The Independence Law Center is an aggressive religious right group whose mission is to shut down every adult nightclub in Pennsylvania and New Jersey and make it illegal for any new ones to open.
